Cupcakes are always a winner with the kids and very easy to change up for any holiday. I have two variations that are sure to please. Read on for ideas and tips for your own Halloween celebration.

Passionfruit filled Vanilla Cupcakes – Halloween Treats and Table

Ingredients required:-

  • Vanilla Packet cake
  • Ingredients required to make the cake as per the box. I always replace oil with butter, water with milk and add an extra egg.
  • Buttercream icing
  • Colouring
  • Passionfruit curd
  • Meringue disc. Purchased or made.

You will also need some Halloween inspired cupcake decorations.

How to put the cupcakes together

Make the vanilla cake as per the instructions on the box (with the above changes made to give it a more homemade taste😉).

Once your cupcakes have cooled fill the centre with a teaspoon of passionfruit curd (you can use lemon if you prefer). I have a cupcake filler which makes this job very easy. If you don’t have a cupcake filler just use a small knife and cut a small circle from the cake being sure to keep the cut out piece to fill the hole once you’ve filled with the passionfruit curd.

Make your buttercream icing and colour to suit your Halloween table theme.

Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcakes

Ingredients List:-

  • Chocolate cake mix
  • Ingredients required to make the cake as per the box. See above for hints to make your packet cake tastier!
  • Buttercream icing. I had enough left over from the Passionfruit cakes so didn’t need to make anymore. If you do a chocolate buttercream would be nice and you can find a recipe here.
  • Nutella
  • Halloween cupcake toppers. I found mine at Spotlight and it came with the cases as well but I also found these toppers and cases.

Making the Chocolate Cupcakes

Make the cupcakes as per instructions on the box and bake in your chosen cases.

Once your cupcakes have cooled fill the centre with a teaspoon of Nutella. Once again I used my cupcake filler to make the job very easy. If you don’t have a cupcake filler just use a small knife and cut a small circle from the cake being sure to keep the cut out piece to fill the hole once you’ve filled with the Nutella.

Top your cupcakes with buttercream icing and your chosen cupcake toppers.

Halloween Bark

Ingredients List

  • White chocolate
  • Candy corn – I used the autumn mix
  • Mini Oreos
  • Mini Reeses cups (halved)
  • Halloween sprinkles

How to make Halloween Bark

Line a small baking tray with baking paper. Melt white chocolate in the microwave. Put on high for 30 second intervals and stir in between until melted.

Pour melted chocolate into your prepared tray and spread until it is the thickness you desire. You definitely don’t want it too thick.

Sprinkle your toppings equally over the melted chocolate. I decided to chop the Reeses cups in half as I felt they were too big. This is such an easy way to make a seasonal treat.

Candy Corn Cookies – Halloween Treats and Table

These candy corn cookies a soft in the centre and full of caramel flavour. Utterly delicious!

Ingredients

Once your cookies come out of the oven you will need to add the toppings very quickly before they cool. Its important to make sure you have everything ready to go.

  • Bake cookies for 10 minutes until the cookies are slightly brown on the edges. Remove from oven and top each cookie with the candy corn and some of the reserved chocolate chips.
  • Let cookies cool for about 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.

Halloween drink

My drink of choice for Halloween this year was the good old “spider”.

I used mini milk bottles and made some Halloween decals using my Cricut Maker.

White chocolate and sprinkles were put on the rim as an added decoration. Simply melt your chocolate dip the rim of the milk bottle into it. Then dip straight into your sprinkles.

Making the “spider” drink is super easy. Place approximately 1/4 – 1/2 cup of ice cream in your chosen vessel then top with your favourite soda. In this case I chose a raspberry soda and it was perfect. Top with a straw and you’re done!

Setting your Halloween table – Halloween Treats and Table

No Halloween celebration is complete without a spooky, themed tablescape to set the mood! For an eerie yet stylish setup, try incorporating a web of creepy crawly spiders.

If you’ve seen any of my previous tablescapes you will know that I love using a white tablecloth as a base for a lot of my tablescapes. I made my own tablecloth years ago but if you can’t do that here are some other options:-

Vintage look, Stain Resistent

Its easy to build up colour with a table runner, napkins, plates etc.

I found a large black cauldron and 6 small ones at a discount store and decorated my table around them. Add in some spooky little touches like some spiders and a skeleton or even some bats. 👻🎃💀

With these spooky Halloween treats and a chillingly fun spider-filled tablescape, your celebration is sure to be a hit. Whether you’re baking cupcakes, cookies, or whipping together some decadent chocolate bark, these festive creations will add the perfect touch of sweetness to your party. And with a well-planned, eerie tablescape, you’ll create a memorable atmosphere that’s as fun as it is frightful. So, embrace the spooky spirit, get creative in the kitchen, and enjoy a fang-tastic Halloween filled with tasty treats and festive décor! What’s your favourite Halloween treat?
