Tropical Themed Tablescape
For Em’s recent birthday party, I chose a pink and green tropical themed tablescape after finding a beautiful table runner in the Myer mid season sale. I also picked up some new glasses and plates to compliment the runner.
Setting the table
To keep prices down when it comes to decorating a table I will often use a white tablecloth as a base and add colour from there. I also have a lot of white dinnerware and will add colour by mixing in some different coloured plates or glasses etc. In this case I found some Salt & Pepper plates on sale at Myer in packs of 6.
The gold cutlery is an old Grosvenor set. My mum gave it to me many years ago and its beautiful. She made sure I had some precious items for my home as part of my “glory box”. For my birthday and Christmas for many years, during my late teens, she gave me different pieces of the Wedgewood Countryware collection. I felt so special and grown up getting those pieces. Now I have a 6 piece dinner set and a complete tea set. They’re a part of my most treasured possessions to this day. Especially now my mum is no longer with us.❤️
Tropical themed tablescape – napkins
I purchased some pink cotton napkins from Kmart. They had white ones too so I picked up some of them at the same time. To help the napkins make a bit more of a statement I prepared them as shown below and then added a Ferrero Rocher in the centre.
To finish off the tropical themed tablescape I added some pink flowers, greenery and coconut halves. I also added candles in the middle. It was really windy that night so I used battery operated ones to add the extra light. I left a vacant space at the end of the table to place the baked potato board.
If you want to check out the rest of the party decorations and food you can do so here. I also made a tropical themed cake for the party which you can find here.
