How to host a small Brunch
There’s something so special about gathering a few of your closest friends for a relaxed and fun girls’ brunch. Whether you’re catching up on life or just taking a moment to unwind together, this kind of gathering is the perfect way to celebrate friendships. Here’s how to host a small brunch that’s both effortless and memorable
The Menu
For a brunch that feels indulgent yet easy, I kept the menu simple but delicious, featuring some of my favourite go to dishes that are perfect for a smaller crowd:
- Mini Quiche in Two Flavours –Caramelized Onion and Camembert: The creamy camembert perfectly complements the sweet caramelized onions – Bacon Quiche: For a savoury, classic option, you can’t go wrong with bacon. It’s always a crowdpleaser and pairs well with the other brunch selections. Find the recipe here.
- Peach Parfait
Light, fresh, and easy to assemble. See Recipe below. - Pastries
I like to offer a selection of pastries, such as croissants, danishes, and maybe a sweet muffin or two. They are easy to pick up and enjoy without much fuss. - Mimosas
A girls’ brunch isn’t complete without a mimosa bar. I set up a simple self serve station with champagne and various juice, allowing guests to mix their own perfect ratio. Add some pretty garnishes like strawberries or mint leaves for an extra special touch.
Easy Caramelised Peach Parfait
Ingredients
- 1 can Sliced Peaches in juice
- 2 tsps Butter
- 1 cup Granola
- 2 cups Plain Yoghurt (I used Coconut Yoghurt but you could use Greek Yoghurt or whatever your favourite is)
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Blueberries
Instructions
- Drain the Peaches – reserving the liquid.
- Add 1 tsp butter to a small frying pan and then add the peaches. Cook on medium heat, turning the peaches several times until softened. Remove from heat and cool. This step can be done the day before
- While the peaches are cooking place the liquid in a small saucepan and boil down to about 1/4 cup. Remove from heat and stir through the remainder of the butter and set aside to cool. This step can be done the day before
- Choose wide mouthed glasses or even small mason jars will work. Start with 1/2 cup of yoghurt in the base of each glass, top with several slices of peaches (just divide what you have between the glasses).
- Drizzle the peaches with the reduced juice. Top with granola, choc chips and blueberries. Enjoy!!
Buffet-Style for Effortless Entertaining
To keep things stress free, I recommend serving everything buffet style. It allows your guests to pick and choose what they want, and it gives you more time to enjoy the gathering rather than playing the role of server. Lay out your mini quiches, parfaits, pastries, and mimosa bar on a beautiful table, and let the brunching begin!
Elegant Serveware by Ladelle
I’m so excited to showcase my new trays, platters, and glassware gifted by Ladelle. They are not only practical but also add a layer of sophistication to the presentation. The floral design and beautiful finishes are the perfect match for a girls brunch, helping everything look very pretty. Whether you’re displaying quiches or arranging pastries, these pieces add that perfect finishing touch to the table.
Pretty Details to Enhance the Atmosphere
It’s all about creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and a few small touches can make a big difference. I added some soft, girly cushions to the seating area, making the space feel cozy and intimate. They added a pop of color and texture that perfectly complements the relaxed, feminine vibe of the brunch. You could also sprinkle in fresh flowers or candles to take it up another notch.
Final Thoughts on how to host a small brunch
The best part about hosting a small girls’ brunch is the opportunity to connect with your friends over good food and drinks. By keeping the menu simple, serving buffet style, and adding a few thoughtful touches like gorgeous servingware and comfy cushions, you can create a relaxed and beautiful event that everyone will love. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just catching up, a brunch like this makes for the perfect gathering. Cheers to friendship and good times!
