Simple Easter tablescape

I love a good simple easter tablescape. For Easter this year I chose a pastel theme.

Again I used a white tablecloth as the base. Added a blue runner and green garland along with some white pom pom trim. The final touch to the middle of the table was two vases of tulips and Easter decorations.

I pulled out the big guns for this table too using my beautiful white Wedgwood Countryware plates. These are some of my most treasured possessions. My mum gave these to me when I was still in my teens. She would buy me new pieces for my birthday and Christmas for several years until I had a whole set of dinnerware for six , a tea set and some other small serving plates. These pieces would have been very expensive at the time (still are!!). We didn’t have a lot of money so the fact that she wanted me to have something so special means the world to me. I feel she was teaching me that just because you don’t have a lot of money doesn’t mean you can’t have nice things or strive for more. Unfortunately its only as I’ve gotten older that I fully appreciate this lesson. I’m passing it on to my daughter, along with the dinnerware. I wish she was still here so I could thank her ❤️

The Wedgwood plates were teamed with pink Salt and Pepper plates and cabbage ware side plates I found at TKMaxx which I think complement each other beautifully.

I also used this opportunity to do a couple of craft projects using my Cricut Maker.

HANDMADE SERVIETTE HOLDERS

First up was the serviette holder. I chose to use a bunny shape to which I added a bow and a fluff tail. All items were cutout using the Cricut Maker and made using leftover craft papers and cardboard. I also used some felt from the next project to make some fluffy tails.

MAKING GIFT BAGS FOR THE TABLE

Homemade gift bags are something I use a lot for my celebration tables. I was given some little bags by my daughter’s lovely boss so decided they would be perfect for this project. I chose my design in Design Space and made the changes I needed to. The flowers were then printed on some felt that was already in my vast craft collection!!! There’s a quote I remember reading once that said collecting craft supplies is a hobby itself – that sums me up for sure!

I also cut out a long rectangle piece of felt that I rolled for the centre of the flowers.

A hot glue gun was used to attach all the pieces together. To stop the bag sides from sticking together I inserted a plastic tray between the layers so the hot glue wouldn’t go through. I also made some additional flowers to use on the table.

THE COMPLETED TABLE

I love this simple Easter tablescape, its not particularly elegant but its very sweet and that always sums Easter up for me. What do you think?

Now its time to decide what to serve for Easter lunch?? I think I’m leaning towards serving a baked ham.
